Our resident’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs will be attended to in a quiet, congenial atmosphere where individual supervised care by professional nursing staff is provided 24 hours a day.

- Cape Medical Response (CMR) provide emergency medical and support 24 hours a day.
- A Registered nurse visits the home at least three times daily to check on the residents and is available on call 24 hours of the day.
- 2 Home carers are on duty 24 hours of the day to assist residents as necessary.
- Assistance is given to residents requiring regular or chronic medication.

Is 31 on Third a secure environment?
Yes. All exterior doors and gates are locked at night, and we have a dedicated security company on call for additional assistance when needed. Each room also includes a mini safe for personal valuables.
What meals are provided?
Residents enjoy three nutritious meals daily, along with tea-time refreshments and evening snacks. We cater for special dietary requirements wherever possible, and meals can be served in residents’ rooms if they are unwell.
Are housekeeping and laundry services included?
Yes. Rooms are serviced daily, cleaned regularly, and laundry and ironing are provided three times per week at no additional cost.
What facilities and activities are available?
Residents have access to comfortable communal living areas, television facilities, DVDs and CDs for entertainment, and exercise classes held twice weekly. Nursing equipment and aids e.g. walkers, shower chairs and commodes are available when required.
Pets as Therapy (PAT) visit once week with a therapy dog and spend time with each resident.
Can additional support services be arranged?
Yes. Transport, hair appointments, foot care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, spiritual care, and other support services can be arranged as needed at the resident’s own cost.
Can family and friends visit?
Visitors are very welcome during the mornings and afternoons, and residents are encouraged to maintain an active lifestyle and enjoy outings, provided staff are informed of their plans.
